First week back at work always makes everybody miserable. January blues kick in and you begin to reminisce about eating cheese in your pjs at 1pm, already 3 drinks in watching Christmas films all day, everyday. So I thought I’d take the opportunity to go through some photos from the holidays and share them with you!
I was lucky enough to get a new camera for Christmas, the Olympus PEN EPL-7 with the 14-42mm kit lens from my other half and I am in LOVE. I was struggling with my Canon DSLR due to the bulky size – my EDS has recently caused the joints in my fingers/wrists to lock and any additional weight made it impossible. I was having to rely on my iPhone for most of my photos and I was always left disappointed with the image quality compared to my DSLR. I began researching cameras and came across the Micro Four Thirds market and decided this might be the perfect compromise. Also it’s a gorgeous camera, which is just a lovely added bonus! I might do a more in-depth review at a later date, but I thought i’d explain why I have been so quite recently – hopefully that will now change!
We spent Christmas day at my in-laws, so recreated our own Christmas on Boxing Day. This was the first year I wasn’t at my parents, so it was really weird to not be with them. However, I video called my sister in the morning and then again when we opened presents together which made the transition easier.
I had a job interview a few days before Christmas, so despite buying some lovely House of Holland Snow Globe and Christmas Tree nails several weeks before Christmas – I couldn’t use them until Christmas eve. This is the Christmas Tree set, which I loved. I will try and cover them in more detail in another post.
As you can see our Christmas was filled with lots of time at home with our kittens Luke and Leia, drinks, chocolates and so so much food!
I will be doing some brief follow up posts on some presents I got and how we spent New Years Eve, seeing as I have been away for a while!
How did you spend your Christmas?
